While reading Psalm you as a reader will know many things that cause you to be confused and also question your beliefs. When you read the chapters out of the King James Bible and the Septuigent you get more of a story that is understandable. While when you read the Sidney Psalter edition it is a lot more out of date and is harder to understand. But there are translations that you can find for the Sidney Psalter edition since it is very out of date (written in the 1500s). In the King James Bible in psalms chapter it david explains to us that God will not stand for people that are evil and cause harm towards others and says that these people will be taken away and destroyed. This may cause confusion with many people because we are told that God is here to forgive us and give us second chances, this is what confession is for. You can use Adam and Eve for example, they decided to eat from the tree that God told them not to eat from and God took them out of the garden and banished them from the gates of heaven. But God really is trying to protect the other people as he wants people to praise him over things like money and sin. If you truly do have faith in god then you will praise him while you are on earth’s surface and also when you go through the gates of heaven. In Psalms chapter 52 it says”4 “You love every harmful word, you deceitful tongue.5 Surely God will bring you down to everlasting ruin: He will snatch you up and pluck you from your tent; he will uproot you from the land of the living.” The reason God believes this is the right thing to do is because he wants to protect his faithful people and he wants them to live a good life through his praise and love. If you are surrounded by corrupt and unfaithful people that makes things very hard for someone. In the Septuiegent it explains the same thing that was quoted above, but the tone that is used is much darker and harsh. The point of punishment that is explained is way more upfront and honest with the reader, other than that The King James Bible and The Septuagint are very much the same in the story telling. In the Sidney psalter edition in chapter 52 it says “God shall displace thee, God shall thee overthrow, Crush thee, deface thee”. This is very poetic and violent and vulgar. The poetic style tells a story and clearly shows the beliefs that are behind this writing. Although it is sending the same message that people should be punished if not doing the right thing. These three different pieces of writing all support the same idea, which is very good because it is consistent with what David is saying. It is helpful to readers to get different styles of writing on the same topic because it can help them get a better understanding for the messages that are trying to be expressed, the three make it so your eyes and mind open up better about the passages.
