Marriage is a big step that many people are not ready to take, this could be due to being scared, commitment issues, being locked in for the rest of your life and many more reasons. It is made very clear that you shall not cheat or betray your loved one. Not everyone is capable of doing this. When you marry someone you have to be there for them no matter what and also be by their side to show your support for them, good or bad. Love is shown very strongly in the film “ A Hidden life”. The film is about a man and a woman who are married, the man Franz gets captured and imprisoned due to his disagreement with ideas, but all he wants to do is be home with his wife and daughter. He has been away from his wife for a long amount of time and many would just give up and try the moving on process due to this, but he and his wife Fani do not do this. Franz sends letters to his wife and his wife misses him dearly. A very strong scene in this film is when Fani gets the letter that her husband is receiving the death penalty for his actions. Her immediate idea is to go and see him in Berlin. When she arrives and meets with him she is not mad at him at all for what he wants to do. She is not mad at him for his decision to choose death over serving in the war. She respects his decision, in the film (2:26:32-2:27:45) she says that she is with him no matter what he decides to do and that she loves him. It can be very easy for her to get mad at him for not choosing war where he has the chance to survive and be able to go home afterwards. But she shows respect for him even though that means they will not see eachother until the day that she dies. She then leaves and goes back home to continue the jobs that he would be doing if he was home, she is showing support for her family by doing this. This relates to Epithalamion section 3 very well. The situations are very different and the symbols behind marriage are very similar. Like stated earlier in this response you have to be all in and have true love for a person that you are going to marry. The groom wants the muse and others to make things for the bride to show his love for her, he wants them to place flower petals in the areas where she walks so that she feels loved and special. The groom also asks the nymphs to decorate her door so that when she wakes up from her sleep she sees it and wants them to sing to her. This might seem very unnecessary to do and a lot of people wouldn’t think to do this but it shows what love really means and shows the emotions that need to be involved for this specific label that they will have on them for the rest of their lives.
